UGC President, M Jagadesh Kumar calls “CUET 2022 a student-friendly reform”


The National Testing Agency will conduct the Central University Entrance Test, CUET 2022, for the admission of eligible students into undergraduate programs beginning in the 2022-2023 academic session at all Central Universities funded by the UGC. On Tuesday, UGC issued a notification informing applicants of the start of CUET 2022 for university admissions in India. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the University Grants Commission, Mr. Jagadesh Kumar, said that only the grades obtained in CUCET will be used for admissions in central universities.

Notably, starting this year, board exam results for class 12 will no longer be considered a valid document for admissions. Educating on the move, the UGC president said the introduction of CUET is a “student-friendly reform.” The president told the media, “The announcement of the Central University Entrance Test (CUET) is a student-friendly reform. admissions based on class. 12 results,” he added.

Meanwhile, UGC has called CUET a student-friendly reform that will allow all students to take the exam and put everyone on a common level. While talking to reporters regarding CUET 2022, the president also talked about a scheduled exam date. He hinted that the exam will take place in July 2022. However, no firm date has been announced for the exam. The National Testing Agency, along with UGC, has confirmed that registration for CUET 2022 will begin the first week of April.
